Award for Excellence in Public Service

This CoSN award is our highest award for elected or appointed national, state, regional or local officials for their achievements in promoting the use of information technologies and the Internet to improve K-12 learning.

We invite you to submit nominations for the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Public Service. Nominees for the Award for Excellence in Public Service must be either an elected or appointed national, state, regional or local official. Self-nomination are allowed and encouraged.

Nominees for the award have demonstrated leadership in:

  1. Expanding learning opportunities for students through the application of telecommunications and information technologies by improving student and teacher access to online educational resources throughout the community.

  2. Improving teacher productivity through the support of effective utilization of information technologies in the classroom.

  3. Developing important effective public and/or private sector partnerships and policies that provide connectivity to learners in schools.

  4. Increasing the public's understanding of the importance of school networking to improve student learning and teacher productivity.
