Keith Krueger Keith R. Krueger is CEO of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), a national nonprofit organization that serves as the voice of K-12 technology leaders, especially school district CTO’s, who use technology strategically to ultimately improve teaching and learning.

He serves on the Advisory Boards for eSchool News, and Scholastic Administr@tor Magazine, GetNetWise and Generation Y. He is a past Board Member for the Organizations Concerned about Rural Education (OCRE) and served for many years as Board Member and Treasurer of the National Committee on Technology in Education & Training (NCTET). He has been honored as an eSchool News IMPACT 30 key national leader in educational technology.

Mr. Krueger has a global reputation as a key thought leader. He has represented the National Science Foundation on a joint EU/US committee planning a joint research agenda for eLearning, and served as a delegate to various United Nations and G8 international ICT in education meetings. He has organized senior level U.S. delegations to visit Australia, Asia and Europe to examine best practices in educational technology.

As a Certified Association Executive (CAE), he has a long background in nonprofit/association management and is particularly interested in using information technologies for education, health and libraries. He has a Masters of Arts in Public Affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota.

Irene Spero Irene Spero serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) and directs the Data-driven Decision Making Initiative, Vision to Know and Do (www.3d2know.org).

She currently serves as the President of NCTET, www.nctet.org , a professional association of education technology leaders in Washington, DC.

Prior to joining CoSN in 2003, Ms. Spero was the first executive director of SchoolTone Alliance, a global consortium of education technology and service provider companies. Ms. Spero served as Director of External Relations at the Web-based Education Commission where she was responsible for directing its outreach efforts, organizing its public hearings and managing its public relations and communications efforts. The Commission submitted its report, The Power of the Internet for Learning: Moving from Promise to Practice, to Congress and the President in December 2000.

Ms Spero worked for 16 years as Executive Director for Federal and State Relations at the College Board. Based in Washington DC, her primary responsibility was to represent the interests of the association by conducting and directing a comprehensive government relations program at the federal and state level. As the College Board's representative, Ms. Spero was frequently asked to advise policymakers and comment on issues relating to the transition from secondary to higher education, access and equity issues. In that capacity, she testified before congressional committees and state legislative bodies and appeared at national education association meetings.

Ms. Spero received a BA degree cum laude with honors in political science from Bryn Mawr College and an MA in Public Law from Columbia University. She is married and the mother of two grown sons. She is actively involved in a wide range of community and professional activities in the Washington, DC area.

Karen YohoKaren comes to CoSN from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) where she headed up marketing efforts for membership, affiliates and conference, as well as the NAEYC Web site. Prior to NAEYC, she headed up all marketing communications and public relations at the Society of American Florists in Alexandria, VA. Karen is a Certified Association Executive and an alumnus of the University of Maryland and active member of ASAE/The Center for Association Leadership.

At CoSN, Karen is responsible for CoSN membership and chapter relations, striving to ensure that members experience a high level of value and relevance. She is also CoSN’s chief marketing person.

When away from CoSN, she leads a Girl Scout Daisy troop and is on the sidelines cheering on her daughter’s soccer team.

Michelle Shirley Michelle Shirley Moore has served as CoSN's Conference Director since 2002 and is responsible for managing/coordinating CoSN's annual conference, special events, professional development training, webcasts, online courses, and exhibitor and sponsorship programs.

Michelle has over 17 years of experience in conference and event planning, which spans the planning and facilitation of numerous conferences (public and private sector events), special events, and expositions; developing and disseminating marketing and program materials; database and speaker management; and extensive member/client interaction.

Prior to joining CoSN, Michelle served in a number of conference management positions, most notably with Meeting Management Services and the Association of Government Accountants. Michelle is active in many local and national conference planning seminars and study groups.

Mary K. LatifPrior to joining the CoSN staff in February 2008, Mary worked with the American Association of Community Colleges for 16 years, serving as Director of Administrative Services/Human Resources for 11 of those years. Mary has additional experience in legislative, regulatory, and disaster relief in a United States Congressional office. She earned her Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development from the George Washington University, Washington, DC and her Bachelor of Arts – Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. This South Carolina native enjoys family, friends, reading, movies, skiing, gardening, and travel.

Sharon started at CoSN in May 2007 with more than ten years of experience working in non profits. Sharon is responsible for membership activities that include daily management of the membership database, processing dues, and responding to member (and prospective member) inquiries. She also supports the work of the CoSN board of directors, chapters and volunteer committees and task forces.

Prior to coming on board at CoSN, Sharon worked at Walton Thomas International, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, and NAFSA: Association of International Educator. Sharon enjoys the time she has with her family and is an avid traveler.

Laura joined the CoSN staff in July 2007 and works as the primary staff liaison to corporate members, conference exhibitors and sponsors. Laura graduated from High Point University in North Carolina with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration in May 2007. Prior to joining CoSN, Laura worked in the hospitality industry including marketing internships at Courtyard Marriott and Oak Hollow Mall in High Point, N.C.

Laura is currently enrolled in George Washington University’s Event Management Program. In her off hours, Laura enjoys weekend trips and spending time with her friends and family.
