“Doors Open”—CoSN Accepting Annual Conference Presentations

2018 Annual Conference Will Be Held March 12-15 in Washington, DC

CoSN is accepting presentation submissions for the national organization’s 2018 Annual Conference in Washington, DC. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, July 21, 2017.
 
Themed Exponential Change – Designing Learning in the 4th Industrial Revolution, CoSN 2018 will again gather education leaders and experts from across the world for a discussion on the unprecedented and rapid wave of technological change. The speed and scope of this technological transformation is creating unlimited possibilities and endless opportunities, ushering in a new industrial age. “The effects of new technologies like artificial intelligence, 3-D printing, and robotics are being felt across society. It is an important time to explore what these accelerating innovations mean for students, educators, and learning as a whole,” said Steve Langford, CIO for Beaverton School District in Oregon. Langford is serving as CoSN Conference Co-Chair with Valerie Truesdale, Chief of Technology for North Carolina’s Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and Donna Williamson, Technology Director for Alabama’s Mountain Brook Schools.
 
Proposed presentations should address two of the following skills included in the CoSN Framework of Essential Skills: Business Management; Communication Systems Management; Data Management; Ethics & Polices; Information Technology Management; Instructional Focus & Professional Development; Leadership & Vision; Stakeholder Focus; Strategic Planning; and Team Building & Staffing.
 
Additionally, sessions should tie to one of the following conference focus areas: Ubiquity & Access; Vision & Leadership; or Pioneering Innovation.
