Nick Mirisis

Nick currently serves as the CEO of Independent Education Strategies which provides strategic marketing, corporate development and growth planning services to educational institutions and their service providers.

As a senior marketing executive, Nick possesses both direct hands-on, as well as leadership, experiences across an expansive range of marketing disciplines, including: Go-To-Market (industry, product, strategic, business development, alliances and strategic partnerships and maximizing client lifetime value), Brand/Marketing Communications/PR, Demand generation, Digital/Inbound/Search, and Events.  
 
For the last thirteen years, his most significant volunteer efforts have been with two national organizations -- NBOA, the National Business Officers Association serving CFOs and business operations staff within PK-12 independent schools, and CoSN, the Consortium for School Networking serving CIOs/CTOs and technology leaders in education. Mirisis currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for NBOA, including recently serving as the Co-Chair for the organization's Strategic Planning Task Force. Mirisis also serves on the Board of Directors for CoSN, including a member of the Executive Committee. 
 
Mirisis has been a featured subject matter expert and speaker at numerous industry and association events, including ATLIS, AASA, AESA, ASBO, CEFPI, FETC, ISTE, NSBA, NYSCATE, SETDA, SIIA, TCEA. He has also led workshops at several international conferences, including ECIS and NESA
 
Prior positions include Vice President for Public Affairs and Executive Engagement at the North Carolina Technology Association. He also served as Senior Vice President and Communications Director for nationally-recognized government affairs, public opinion and strategic communications firm in Arlington, Virginia, working for various Fortune 100 clients, including American Express, AT&T, Boeing, Federal Express, Hospital Corporation of America, Merrill Lynch, and Exxon Mobil.  
 
Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
