CoSN Privacy Policy
CoSN respects your privacy. To protect the privacy of its members and other visitors to
CoSN,
Taking TCO to the Classroom,
K-12 School Networking Conference,
Data-Driven Decision Making and
Cyber Security for the Digital District, CoSN has implemented the following policy:
Websites: You can visit parts of the CoSN website without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. However, CoSN can and
may collect the following information regarding visitors to our website: domain name; your name; information regarding what pages are accessed;
information volunteered by you such as such as survey responses or contact information; and, information related to transactions such as
registrations to conferences, online courses and events, and the purchase of CoSN products. We W may aks ask you to provide us with information
regarding your professional interests, personal demographics, and experience with our resources. This information is collected so that we may
continuously improve our products and services. Access to the Member-Only section of the CoSN website is provided through use of a login and
password combinationcombination that is issued to members in good standing. Visitors seeking access to certain free materials may be asked to
provide certain information about themselves as a condition of accessing that information.
If you choose to provide us with personal information, such as your name and address when placing an order, registering for one of our programs
or performing another task, CoSN may use that information to provide or offer you CoSN products or services, for billing purposes, to send
information to you, or for other purposes.or for other related purposes For example, if you are a member, CoSN may use the information you
provide us to process your application, maintain memberships, keep you abreast of latest news and programs, or respond and render services to you.
CoSN's CTO Council Listserv: The CTO Council listserv is intended as a member benefit. The CTO Council is co-sponsored by TLN; therefore,
TLN members are also invited to participate. The listserv is intended to be a resource for district CTOs to network and share information with
their peers. CoSN recognizes that the listserv is also a valuable resource for the media and our corporate members. Members of the media are
invited to participate in the CTO Council listserv; however, all list discussions are are to be considered confidential and off the record.
On-list discussions and comments may only be reported or quoted with the express permission of the original source(s). CoSN corporate Corporate
members may also participate on the CTO Council listserv; however, they are prohibited from posting commercial messages. Any vendors posting
commercial or sales messages to the list will be immediately unsubscribed.
Disclosure of Contact Information to Third Parties: On occasion, CoSN may rent limited membership data to third parties, or provide limited data
on registered site users to various third parties. This limited data may include name, job title, company and business address. However, it does
not include any phone numbers, fax numbers or email addresses. If you do not wish CoSN to release your personal information, please refer to the
opt-out section of our policy.
By becoming a member of CoSN, you agree to allow CoSN to include your name in our online member directory, which is accessible only to members.
If you do not wish CoSN to list any of your contact information, please refer to the opt-out section of our policy. If you apply to become a
member or are a member of any CoSN Chapter, you have consented to the release of information related to your membership to the Chapter to which
you applied.
This only applies to postal addresses; CoSN never shares or rents out email addresses or telephone or fax numbers. CoSN carefully screens and
approves all mailing pieces sent by third parties prior to mailing. CoSN licenses our mailing list for one-time use only, and renters must sign
an agreement reflecting this.not re-use the list If you feel a licensee has violated this agreement, please report the alleged violation to CoSN
immediately.
Opting Out of the Release of Your Personal Information: Members and registered site users may opt out of having their postal addresses
rented/provided to third parties. As noted above, CoSN never rents or shares email addresses or telephone or fax numbers. Additionally,
members may opt out of having their contact information listed in the online membership directory. If you do not wish CoSN to release your
postal address to third parties, please send a written request in which you identify yourself, and which clearly states your preference that
CoSN not release your postal address.

Regardless of membership status, Members and registered site users may also opt out of having their contact information listed in the online
membership directory, as well as set their own contact, address rental, and information display options in myCoSN. Log in to myCoSN at
www.cosn.org and select the appropriate opt-out options.

Content Rating
This Website, as well as all
Web sites sponsored by the Consortium for School Networking, has been rated by CoSN, based on the content rating standards
of the Internet Content Rating Association. ICRA is an independent, non-profit organization with offices in the United States
and Europe. The ICRA standards are designed to promote the online safety of children, while protecting the free-speech rights
of content providers. Browsers can be set to bar access to those Web sites that include certain kinds of content that educators
and parents consider to be inappropriate for children or to sites that have not rated themselves. For more information, see

Special Technology (CAST) to ensure its site is compliant with Section 508
and the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative These initiatives are designed
to help Web page authors identify and repair significant barriers to access by individuals with disabilities, and are fully
supported by CoSN.
