‘Father of Ed Tech’ Seymour Papert Inspired Innovated Learning

Washington, DC (August 5, 2016) – CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) CEO Keith Krueger today issued the following statement on Seymour Papert who passed away on Sunday, July 31:

“Long before computers and tablets became an everyday part of our lives, Seymour Papert had a vision for how technology could advance the hearts and minds of students and the learning experience.   

“Considered by many in education as the ‘Father of Ed Tech,’ his passion and persistence inspired a new wave of thinking and transformation in the classroom. CoSN was especially honored to bestow him with our first Lifetime Achievement Award – recognition that now shines in his name.

“I am grateful to call Seymour a friend and a mentor and remember the incredible legacy he leaves. My condolences go out to the Massie family and the Papert family.”
