CETL Training

CoSN’s Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL®) Foundation Course is a facilitated online course that prepares practicing or aspiring education technology leaders for the CoSN CETL examination leading up to the credential. Interactive sessions are 60-90 minutes each week and are held over an 11-week period.The course is led by CETL certified and experienced ed tech leaders who have completed a CoSN Facilitators Training Course.

NEW! 2018 Summer Facilitated Class 

Are you interested in achieving the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL®) certification? The CETL Foundation Course teaches you the fundamental principles of CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills – the basis of the CETL certification.

Be prepared by taking our summer class! Students will meet twice per week from July 10 to August 14, 2018. To ensure that we offer the best possible environment for facilitated virtual learning, the summer class is capped at 20 participants with a minimum of ten enrollees.

Course Facilitators

Katie Miller is an educational technology consultant based in Bristol, RI. At the end of the 2015 calendar year, Katie completed 20 rewarding years of service as the Director of Technology in the Barrington Public Schools in Barrington, RI. In this role, she successfully navigated aligning disparate systems and building a robust infrastructure designed to serve rapidly evolving district needs. She served as a founding director and is a recent past-president of RISTE, the Rhode Island (RI) Chapter of the International Society of Technology Educators (ISTE). 

Alex J Podchaski serves as the Director of Technology at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, NJ. He was the first in New Jersey to earn the Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) designation from CoSN, which is based on a framework of essential skills for a K12 CTO. With over 20 years of higher education and K12 experience in technology planning and implementation, Alex brings a unique perspective in bringing technology into the world of learning. Alex co-founded and moderates #edtechchat and is involved with CoSN’s Small District Initiative.
